Tips and Tricks:- |
Here is a list of the features to look for in a good long distance calls service:-
- Make sure you understand the billing increments. They can be in seconds or minutes or nearest whole minute. You can be charged for a completed minute even if you are 1 second into the minute.
- Check for hidden costs like minimum charges or call surcharges.
- Factor in the FCC charges. Lots of long distance call services don't disclose these when quoting as you have to pay them anyway.
- Check if there is a peak hours charge and call after hours. You will save on your long distance calls.

Its Your Call:- |

The Bathtub was invented in 1851. The telephone was invented in 1876. You could have sat in the bath for 25 years without being phoned once!!
The telephone sure isn't a vaccuum cleaner; but its amazing how much dirt you can get out of it!

What this? |
- IntraLATA - A specific zone in the US. There is a specific rate for calls within the zone. There are about 200 intraLATAs in the US each represented by a 3 digit number.
- Interstate Call - An interstate long distance call actually takes place when you connect from one IntraLATA to another (even if the IntraLATAs are in the same state). There is a seperate set of long distance rates for this.
- International Call - Long Distance International Calls take place when you call any country other than the one you are in. There is normally a third set of rates applicable to this type of long distance call.
- Cellphone Calls - Just to complicate the issue once and for all and depending where you are in the world, there is a fourth set of rates which may be applicable.
